2026 Volkswagen Taigun will get a host of cosmetic updates and interior revisions while a new eight-speed AT is also likely
Volkswagen India is gearing up to introduce an updated version of the Taigun in the domestic market on April 9, 2026 – following the recent arrival of the facelifted version of its sibling, the Skoda Kushaq. Mechanically, as you might expect, the midsize SUV will stick with its existing duo of turbo petrol engine options.
Customers can expect the familiar 1.0-litre unit delivering 115 hp and 178 Nm alongside the more potent 1.5-litre engine producing 150 hp and 250 Nm. The bigger talking point, however, could be the introduction of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic for the smaller engine, replacing the 6-speed automatic unit.
In terms of styling, the facelifted model will get notable additions to bring a refreshed vibe. Recent sightings hint at a redesigned front end featuring slimmer LED headlamps connected by a light bar along with a glowing Volkswagen badge. Updates to the grille, reprofiled bumpers and revised tail lamp detailing are also expected.
